Description

Strung with 8mm natural Kingman, Arizona Turquoise, the necklace is finished with a Turquoise and Sterling Silver clasp. The pendant is 4" long, 2" wide at the widest point, constructed with Turquoise, Jet, Sterling Silver, Mother-of-Pearl, and Spiny Oyster. Measures 37', including length of pendant.

The Rainbow Man is a symbol of protection and abundance, first noted on ancient Zuni war shields. Along with the dragonfly and frog, who also represent the presence of water, the Rainbow Main remains the most potent and benevolent spirit for invoking rain. He first appeared in Zuni inlaid jewelry in the 1920s, depicted with an arched or curved back like a rainbow, but he also appears standing, wearing a kilt and the traditional tabilita headdress.
