Tibetan Prayer Box, 18th Century
The prayer box pictures Chitipati, the lovers known as Lord and Lady of the Charnel Ground whose dance represents the eternal dance of death, as well as the attainment of perfect consciousness. The box, embellished with 4 pieces of Tibetan Turquoise and 4 pieces of Mediterranean Coral, has a higher silver content than sterling silver. From the estate of a Tibetan collector in New England.
