Bronze, Lapis Lazuli, Turquoise, Coral, Crystal, Gold Overlay
The Medicine Buddha is a powerful healing medicine found in Tibetan Buddhism. Traditionally, he has a dark blue Lapis Lazuli body, this being the hierarchical color of healing. He holds a crystal bowl of healing herbs in his left hand, a medicine plant in his right hand. He wears a five-pointed crown as a sign that he stands above all the laws of nature and transcience, eternally imperturbable. From the private collection of a Tibetan businessman and former monk currently living in Kathmandu.
