From our private stash of native Arizona Turquoise, we selected these Sleeping Beauty Turquoise beads which we bought at the time the mine closed in 2012. This Turquoise is not stabilized and has the brilliant natural blue color associated with Sleeping Beauty. The beads are 5mm in size. When the Sleeping Beauty Mine closed, it left Kingman as the only continually working Turquoise mine in the Southwest. Once there were 35 mines in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada. Now prices have escalated radically and we expect that Turquoise beads will no longer be produced in a few year because it requires a lot of loss to cut a bead. We feel that soon you will only be able to buy the rough by the pound and cut your own or cabochons which are more profitable and don't require as much time or skill to produce.

The kit finishes to 19" and includes four Sterling Silver beads, Sterling Silver crimps and clasp, stringing material, instructions, and our monograph on the history, use, tribal myths, and the current situation with Turquoise.
